Run Rules-Based EWMA Charts for Efficient Monitoring of Profile Parameters

In usual quality control methods, the of a process or product is evaluated by monitoring one more characteristics using their corresponding distributions. However, when characteristic defined through relationship between response and independent variables, regime referred to as profiles monitoring. this article, we improve performance Exponentially Weighted Moving Average Range (EWMAR) charts, which are implemented for linear (i.e., intercept, slope average residual sample reference lines) integrating them with run rules in order quickly detect various magnitudes shifts profile parameters. The validation proposed chart accomplished examining its length (ARL) criteria. EWMAR exhibits much better detecting small decreasing than other competing charts. Finally, an example from multivariate manufacturing industry employed illustrate superiority rules.
